SOCAN Songcamp Mondays support your craft development by connecting you with other music creators.
Every month, three writer applicants are selected for a co-writing session held in our fully equipped Sound Lounges in Toronto, L.A. and Vancouver. Participants for Song Camp Monday are selected at random from all submissions. If selected, you will be contacted around two weeks before the session. All applications remain on file for the calendar year. We encourage you to reapply each January.

SOCAN is pleased to offer accommodation in Los Angeles and Nashville exclusively for SOCAN member writers, composers, and publishers who are visiting these cities to further their career, craft, or business. Whether they’re attending songwriting camps, sessions, or meetings, we are happy to help by offering fully equipped accommodations.
Please note, there is high demand for SOCAN House bookings, therefore stays are not allocated on a first come, first served basis. We highly recommend applying 3-4 months in advance of your preferred stay to increase your chances of a successful application. You must first check availability for LA House or Nashville House prior to application. If more than one application is received for the same dates, applications will be reviewed and only one will be selected. Successful candidates will be notified approximately two months before their requested stay.

Summary of important Information about your stay (see application for full guidelines and terms and conditions)
- A SOCAN member may enjoy one stay per calendar year at each of the SOCAN Houses. For example, for a member who stayed at SOCAN House Los Angeles in May 2024, the earliest subsequent stay at SOCAN House Los Angeles that they could be eligible for is in January 2025, but they could be eligible for a stay at another SOCAN House in 2024.
- Applications must be submitted to SOCAN no earlier than 3 months prior to the start date of your requested stay If you are selected to stay at a SOCAN House, SOCAN will inform you that you have been selected approximately 2 months prior to the start date of your stay.
- The availability of each SOCAN House is posted on the online calendar at socan.com. Please check the online calendar for availability and submit your request as soon as possible (but not more than 3 months in advance). Please note:
- SOCAN offers these stays at SOCAN Houses to those members who, in our opinion, will benefit most from the stay. Consequently, these stays are not determined on a first-come, first-served basis when we receive more than one request for the same stay period.
- SOCAN Houses may not be available during major events or conferences in these cities. While SOCAN makes every effort to indicate these periods of unavailability in the online calendar, we may notify you that your desired stay period is no longer available after we have received your request. In such cases, SOCAN will offer you the opportunity to request another period of stay.
- The duration and maintenance fees per stay are as follows:
- SOCAN House in L.A.: 7 days—US$300
- SOCAN House in Nashville: 7 days—US$200
All stays begin on a Sunday. Check-in is after 3 pm (local time) on Sunday, and check-out is before 11 am (local time) Sunday.
For example, for all SOCAN Houses, the maximum stay is from 3pm Sunday to 11am Sunday.
If you are selected for a stay at a SOCAN House, SOCAN will inform you of the deadline for the maintenance fee, which must be submitted to SOCAN by the deadline to secure your booking
If you would like to request a stay beyond the duration noted above, please indicate so on your application (or submit the request to SOCAN as soon as possible if you have already been selected by SOCAN for the stay). SOCAN maintains sole discretion on whether to grant such request, and SOCAN may require additional maintenance fees for an extended stay.
- The maximum occupancy for all SOCAN Houses is 2 people, including If your guest is a SOCAN member, please provide their name and SOCAN member number on your application.
- SOCAN members and their guests must respect the landlord and spaces. All members and guests shall conduct themselves professionally and courteously; Members and their guests must abide by SOCAN House directives regarding security, parking, and other such matters as required by the landlord or SOCAN.Failure in following the terms may disqualify you from staying at all SOCAN houses.
SOCAN DESTINATION song camps
SOCAN supports and celebrates members throughout their career journey, and a SOCAN destination Song Camp is an aspirational and positive community experience for several of our members. Through publisher submissions, and by consulting our networks, we bring together accomplished writers and producers to collaborate, resulting in members expanding their networks, finding new writing partners, exploring different styles and genres, and, of course, creating new songs, all in an inspired setting. SOCAN destination Song Camps are by invitation only.
Community, Education and Craft Development
SOCAN believes community and connection go hand-in-hand with craft development and education, so we make it a priority to be accessible and provide resources across the country. Each year SOCAN Creative representatives can be found at music industry conferences and events participating in a variety of ways, all in an effort to help you grow on your career journey.

- SOCAN Masterclass, Cooking Beats and Mic Drop panels – educational conversations with successful songwriters, producers and industry professionals.
- SOCAN 101 sessions – SOCAN business and financial education.
- SOCAN Family & Friends events – an opportunity and informal way for members to connect with SOCAN staff and other SOCAN members.
