Vincent Vallières

Song – "Et c'est un départ"
- Now playing...

Born in 1978 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Vincent Vallières has been writing his own material since the age of 15. In 1996, he made the finals of the Cégeps en spectacle competition (placing second) and recorded the demo album Le vent du Nord, followed in rapid succession by Trente arpents (1999), Bordel Ambiant (2001), Chacun dans son espace (2003) and Le repère tranquille (2006), an album that confirmed his place in the vanguard of Quebec popular music.

His fifth release, the gold-certified Le monde tourne fort, is a collection of deeply personal lyrics and deceptively simple melodies telling everyday stories and asking existential questions about the heartbreaking nature of love and the mystery of time “from the future to the present.”

The fourth single from that album, “On va s'aimer encore” (“We Will Still Be In Love Then”), has been a runaway hit on YouTube with some 900,000 views, making it the “Francophone song of 2011,” according to some music programmers.
