Jérôme Minière

Song – "Dans ton oreille" - Now playing...

In 2001, Jérôme Minière was signed by Les disques de La Tribu, and released his first full-blown electro album, Jérôme Minière présente Herri Kopter, winner of a 2002 ADISQ Award for best electronic album. A year later, he released Petit Cosmonaute, a collection of 14 pop songs, and won the 2003 ADISQ Award for songwriter of the year. Soon after, Petit Cosmonaute enjoyed limited European distribution.

In 2004, Minière was selected to participate in Sacré Talent!, a special radio showcase presented by Radio-Canada on its Espace musique network. The German label Le Pop, dedicated to local releases of new Francophone songs, licensed Petit Cosmonaute, while more Minière compositions appeared on other Le Pop compilations with songs by such artists as Mickey 3D, M and Katerine. That same year, Jérôme Minière Chez Herri Kopter received ADISQ Award nominations for best electronic album and producer of the year.

In May 2005, Jérôme Minière Chez Herri Kopter was released in France and Germany. Minière opened for French artist Yann Tiersen and represented Herri Kopter International once again at the PopKomm international music business market in Berlin. In the fall of the same year, he released a double CD-DVD live album featuring songs from shows in Quebec City, Montreal and Sherbrooke. The DVD portion of the box contains a complete version of his July 10 show at Quebec City’s Grand Théâtre, for which he received the Miroir Award for best Francophone pop music at the 2005 Quebec City Summer Festival.

In the spring of 2006, Jérôme Minière travelled to France to open for Katerine on a tour by the French artist. His 2007 album Cœurs was released in Germany under the Le Pop label and distributed in Europe and Japan. In 2009, Minière performed Cœurs légers on tour in Quebec and Germany and, with Nicolas Bouvier, wrote the music for a new Théâtre Ubu production presented at Festival TransAmériques (FTA) and the Avignon Festival in France.

In 2010, Jérôme Minière released the highly anticipated new album Le vrai le faux, and published a book at Éditions de La Pastèque with illustrations by Marie Pierre Normand. He also wrote the music for a new Théâtre Ubu production that will be presented in the spring of 2011, and in which he'll play a part.
