Jérôme Charlebois

Song – "J'aime ses défauts" - Now playing...

The son of iconic Quebecois singer-songwriter Robert Charlebois, Jérôme Charlebois studied drumming at the age of 15, and travelled to Paris, where he studied voice and stage technique in the same place where another Quebec singer with Parisian experience, Lynda Lemay, had lived. He later documented this part of his life in “Mon petit côté français” (”My Little French Side”).

Back in Quebec, Fançois made his first appearance at the 2003 FrancoFolies de Montréal festival with his famous father as part of the Charlebois Love show. At 27, he released 27, a much-anticipated first album recorded with his group, Les Jérôme Charlebois.

Now 31, Charlebois is poised to release Jérômanimé, his witty second opus, this fall. This will be followed by a promotional tour with the artist’s four musicians. A charismatic performer, Charlebois is currently playing a curtain raiser for Il était une fois… La boîte à chansons (Once Upon a Time... Singing Clubs), a nostalgic take on the 1960s Quebec music explosion, that's touring the province to rave reviews.
