Montr\u00e9al \u2013 Les l\u00e9gendaires auteurs-compositeurs Michel Pagliaro et Randy Bachman demandent au gouvernement du Canada d\u2019\u00e9tendre la dur\u00e9e de la protection du droit d\u2019auteur aux auteurs et aux compositeurs. Randy Bachman a d\u00e9clar\u00e9\u00a0:<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0J\u2019\u00e9tais heureux d\u2019apprendre qu\u2019une plus grande protection sera accord\u00e9e aux enregistrements, mais ce que je ne comprends pas, c\u2019est pourquoi le gouvernement n\u2019a pas inclus les chansons elles-m\u00eames dans cette protection.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Les chansons et les compositions musicales au Canada sont donc beaucoup moins prot\u00e9g\u00e9es que la norme internationale, qui est de 70 ans apr\u00e8s la mort du cr\u00e9ateur.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Le Canada accusera donc encore un retard si un amendement au projet de loi n\u2019est pas apport\u00e9.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0L\u2019extension de la protection pour les enregistrements sonores est un important pas en avant, et je f\u00e9licite le gouvernement pour cela, mais le gouvernement doit aussi s\u2019occuper des affaires des auteurs, des compositeurs et de tous les cr\u00e9ateurs!\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Michel Pagliaro a d\u00e9clar\u00e9:<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Tout commence par la cr\u00e9ation musicale. Si personne n\u2019\u00e9crit de chanson ou ne compose de musique, il n\u2019y aura pas d\u2019enregistrement. L\u2019extension de la protection du droit d\u2019auteur devrait \u00e9galement inclure les gens qui cr\u00e9ent la musique. Point!\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dans son \u00e9nonc\u00e9 budg\u00e9taire\u00a02015 et dans la Loi d\u2019ex\u00e9cution du budget subs\u00e9quente, le gouvernement du Canada propose d\u2019accro\u00eetre de 50 \u00e0 70 ans la dur\u00e9e de la protection du droit d\u2019auteur pour les enregistrements sonores. Au nom de tous les auteurs et compositeurs du Canada, la SOCAN demande au gouvernement du Canada de modifier la Loi d\u2019ex\u00e9cution du budget afin que la dur\u00e9e de la protection du droit d\u2019auteur pour ces cr\u00e9ateurs soit aux normes internationales.<\/p>\n
