La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des auteurs, compositeurs et \u00e9diteurs de musique du Canada (SOCAN) accueille favorablement l\u2019annonce faite aujourd\u2019hui du projet de loi priv\u00e9 C-299 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par le d\u00e9put\u00e9 de York-Simcoe, Peter Van Loan, qui propose d\u2019\u00e9largir la protection du droit d\u2019auteur pour les auteurs, compositeurs et \u00e9diteurs de musique canadiens.<\/p>\n

Au nom de ses membres, la SOCAN favorise depuis longtemps de faire passer de 50 \u00e0 70 ans apr\u00e8s la mort du dernier cr\u00e9ateur la protection du droit d\u2019auteur.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous sommes plus que ravis de la pr\u00e9sentation, aujourd\u2019hui, du projet de loi priv\u00e9 C-299 \u00e0 la Chambre des Communes\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Eric Baptiste, le chef de la direction de la SOCAN. \u00ab\u00a0S\u2019il est adopt\u00e9, ce projet de loi renforcera l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me canadien de la musique en permettant aux auteurs et compositeurs canadiens d\u2019\u00eatre prot\u00e9g\u00e9s selon des standards internationaux. Cette question va au-del\u00e0 des id\u00e9ologies partisanes et nous encourageons tous les membres du parlement et de tous les partis \u00e0 soutenir ce projet de loi.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
